Great Lakes Freighters Webcams

For those of you who enjoy seeing Great Lakes freighters up close, there are four live streaming webcams on the St. Marys River between Port Huron and Algonac, as well as at the Soo Locks and the entrance to Duluth Hartbor.  The Ship Locator link displays a marine traffic map with icons representing ships in the area.  By panning and zooming, you can zero in on a particular ship, click on the icon, and get the name, speed, course, and a photograph of the vessel.  With this tool, you can pan out and zoom in on any location on earth to find ships.

The locator is centered on Port Huron, and the webcam links are labeled Port Huron North, which is near the Blue Water Bridge, Port Huron South, a bit further south of the bridge, and Marine City and Algonac, downriver toward Lake St. Clair.  There is also a link to the Soo, two to Duluth, and one from the Dossin Great Lakes Museum on Detroit's Belle Isle.
